Sita Ratan Leprosy Hospital, founded in 1951 as a small dispensary in Anandwan, has grown into a 50-bedded hospital that offers free primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare services to about 30,000 patients. The hospital has an operation theatre, recovery room, laboratory, digital X-ray unit, separate male and female in-patient departments, medicine disbursement counter, administration cabins, and a fully functioning dental unit. A physiotherapy centre is also present on the hospital premises. The hospital's main building was constructed in 2002 with funds donated by Mr. L.R. Gajaria, and an OPD wing and special area for dressing leprosy-affected patients were added in 2014 with financial assistance from Nouvelle Planete, Switzerland. All support staff, including nurses, dressers, and attendants, are cured leprosy-afflicted persons.
