World Alzheimer Day 2022

World Alzheimer's Day, every year on September 21st, Alzheimer's groups worldwide focus their efforts on raising awareness about Alzheimer's and dementia. Alzheimer's disease is a type of dementia disease that can result in cognitive function loss due to physical inactivity. Maintaining your health as you age will aid in the prevention of Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.
Alzheimer's disease is often referred to as a family disease, as the chronic hardship of watching a loved one steadily decline affects everyone.

The theme for World Alzheimer's Day 2022

This year's World Alzheimer's Month theme is 'Know Dementia, Know Alzheimer's' which is about the power of knowledge. It is a continuation of the previous year's campaign, which focused on dementia symptoms and diagnosis, as well as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the dementia community worldwide. This year, however, a specific emphasis will be placed on dementia post-diagnosis support.

World Alzheimer's Day provides an opportunity for all of us to learn about the factors that prevent dementia. Aging is a risk factor, but concentrating on what you can do now, such as eating healthily and staying cognitively and physically active, can help prevent dementia later in life.

What You Can Do to Help on World Alzheimer's Day

There is no one-size-fits-all solution to preventing or treating Alzheimer's disease, but there are numerous things you can do to help those affected by the disease. Some of the most significant things you can do are as follows:

1. Know yourself and inform your loved ones about the symptoms and indicators of Alzheimer's disease.

2. Fund programs and services that assist people with Alzheimer's disease and their families in coping with the illness.

3. Contribute money or materials to groups fighting Alzheimer's disease.

4. Contribute to a group that is striving to develop a cure for Alzheimer's disease.

By doing so, you may help those affected by Alzheimer's and make a difference in the fight against the disease. World Alzheimer's Day provides a time to reflect on the significance of these initiatives and commit to continuing them.
